Première for the film Fantastique
We had a blast last week in Switzerland to attend the première of the film Fantastique made by Marjolijn Prins and produced by Serendipity Productions. The star of the docufilm, Fanta, was able to travel all the way from Guinea to Locarno to attend the première and participate in the Q&A afterwards.

Circus4Climate Aftermovie !
Eind dit jaar namen we deel in het project Circus4Climate samen met KIYO en ECDF. Het werd een week vol emotie, uitwisseling, verrassing en een vooral een avontuur om niet te vergeten die ons alvast inspireert om het project verder te blijven ontwikkelen..

What a beautiful experience we had the opportunity to live last week ! It all started when we contacted Kiyo last year with an idea of an artistic, exchange project concerning climate with young people. A lot of things in one, but with the experience and amazing experience of Kiyo, and especially Mélodie, we were able to realise this last week with young people from Burundi, Belgium and Guinea. The young people from Burunid are guided by Spring Communities, an organisation doing wonderful work with the youth there.

Collaboration with women association of Tamara
Amoukanama has started a partnerschip with the women association of Tamara, Island of Fotoba. First project: start an ecological soap production initiative and small gardens for food production.

Bouwproject in Guinee met Edukado
Edukado zal samenwerken met Amoukanama om een klaslokaal te bouwen in Guinee naast de circusschool. Deze klas zal ook dienen als dansstudio. Wil jij vrijwilliger zijn en meegaan om te bouwen in de zomer van 2023 ? Zie hieronder meer info om je in te schrijven!

CircusSchool

First of all, we want to build a professional circus school in Conakry, Guinea. To the model of the National Circus School in Montreal, we want to offer a 3 year program for students. This program aims to offer the students a possibility to grow into a professional circus artist with the space to develop their own personality and unique talents.

Exchange

A big element of Amoukanama is the exchange between people. We work with people with different world views, cultures, languages, religions etc. and strive to find common ground among them. Circus is a great tool to create connection despite differences. It speaks with values of trust through movement of the body and mind.

Shows / Spectacle

Amoukanama also produces their own international shows supported by a wonderful artistic team and partners. We are now touring with the production FA, both for public space (2022) and theaters (2023). In addition, we are performing with several shows and acts already:

Social Outreach

We are building a mobile theater with several partners to tour Guinea (and other West-African countries) and bring the arts to other neighbourhoods and villages.

Who We Are

Amoukanama has been founded in the hearts of many people, especially the young acrobats of Matam Conakry, Guinea. It was them who have made the seeds for this project as it is their hard work and courage who led to the origin of the acrobatics in Guinea. however, there are a few who are currently leading the project to its realization... Let us show you a little video of who the acrobats are...
